As Karnataka is gearing up for the much awaited election, Congress and BJP are in full swing with their leaders hurling abuses at one another, calling names and playing blame-game.
On a lighter note here we have compared their fashion sense in the heat of the election.

While the naamdar is seen in plain white kurti paired with pyjama or denims, the kaamdar is elaborately dressed with a logo in his 56” chest, head-dress, orange brocade shawls, cotton kurti.
No there is no retreat from the brash saffron!
While there seems to be an overdose of 'Indianess' and 'tradition', Indian politicians have always preferred cotton, khaki, brocades, handlooms to show off their Indianess. With BJP, the use of saffron colour in their attires, is a conscious effort to equate Hinduism and nationalism, while congress leaders predominantly use white/subtle colour attires as a means to reinforce their Indian roots and the secularism and simplicity that has been associated with.
