A trend that has been for quite sometime, but recently you could see it in all tiers of shops. From designers to international brands and local brands. The cropped pants and its variations for men has been topping the trend list recently.
Cropped pants are pants which come just above the ankle. There are many variation of cropped pants. The pants with hemline just above ankles, cuffed pants, hemline with contrast fabric/folding.

The scenario was also seen in the Indian fashion context from the year 2017, with most of the fashion shows featuring cropped pants for men. The style was not just restricted to ready to wear but was also extended to ethnic wear with cropped pants being paired with kurta/sherwani/blazers.Indian designer stalwarts Tarun Tahiliani and gen-next designers like Abhishek Paatni also featured cropped pants in different styles Amazon India Fashion Week 2017.
This style could be said as a Trickle-up fashion, since ankle length was never considered appropriate for the elite but it was considered comfortable for the working class. Though the trend has come to Indian brands from International brands, it has always been a comfortable and convenient choice for men and boys of working class and it is definitely stylish with its simplicity.
