The inter-influence of sports and fashion is a very important phenomenon in fashion industry, as it decides the trend direction of a significant youth population following a sport. Players, sports brands, team sponsors, designer affiliations play a vital role in bringing up new sports products and trends. Sports that generally involve a significant amount of fashion are football, tennis, cricket, basketball. In India, cricket is the most followed sport with players being idolised, worshipped and imitated. The advent of T-20 and more importantly IPL is a major factor in the fashion and lifestyle market associated with cricket in India.
From Dhoni's long-hair, Virat's under-cut dapper style, Jadeja's handlebar moustache, every style element is noted and has become trend following each IPL season.
IPL 2018 is no less in glamour and style statements. We have noted the trend of dapper style hair cuts, full beard, extended goatee, boxed beard and its beard all the way!
Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthick, Ashwin(surprisingly), Krunal Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar are some of the players who have sported this look.
